Music GroupWoosehill Community Church has an enthusiastic music group whose aim is to lead worship for Sunday morning services. We practice weekly on a Sunday morning at 8.45am in the Church. Our current membership (age ranges 16 to ?) includes guitars (electric and acoustic), keyboard, clarinet and tenor saxophone, violin, Latin percussion and vocals. We play a wide variety of music from the Victorian hymn writers to contemporary music written in the last couple of years. On average we play once a fortnight in Church at the 10.00 a.m. service and we also support services at Suffolk Lodge (old people's home) when led by members of our Church here on Woosehill. We also aim to attempt to teach the congregation a new song/hymn each time we play. The Music group is hard work, but also great fun and very rewarding. it offers an opportunity for regular playing at whatever level you are at, as well as fellowship with other members of the band. If you would like to find out more or join please contact the group leader Mike Cole at jmcole@btopenworld.com who will be able to tell you more. We all get a lot out of the music group, but we all have to put a lot in as well. Regular attendance at rehearsals and services are as important as music talent. It doesn't matter what instrument you play and don't worry if you don't play, if you like singing, you can still have a big part to play, especially if you don't mind singing into a microphone! The group probably would not suit very young children however.
