Thursday Evening FellowshipOur meetings take place on Thursdays, beginning at 8.00 p.m. The first half-hour is spent having tea or coffee and chatting as the members gradually arrive. When everyone is settled we have a prayer session, including intercessions and thanks put forward at the time. This is followed by study and discussion. The study may be a book in the Bible - the last one we looked at was the Old Testament book of Esther. Alternatively we may have a topic based on various Bible passages, recent ones including prayer and the Fruits of the Spirit. Every few weeks we have an evening with no formal study, when members bring readings, music and subjects for discussion. We aim - but do not always succeed - at finishing at 10.00p.m. The aim of the fellowship is to enable people to discover for themselves what the Bible is saying, to discuss this with others, and to examine its relevance for their lives today, as well as being a place where they can get to know other Christian people much better than they can by just attending church. Any personal disclosures are completely confidential. New members are always welcome. Monthly Prayer meetingOnce a month there is a prayer meeting at the church, on a Thursday at 8pm. Please contact contact Libby Godden for details.
Monthly Thursday Bible Study GroupIf you want to learn more about the Bible and meet new friends (have coffee…), but can’t commit to a weekly session, then the Monthly Bible Study Group could be just right for you. We usually meet on the first Thursday of every month at 20:00 and start the evening with a chat to catch up on everyone’s news, and then a prayer before delving into the pages and becoming immersed….. “How can I describe the Kingom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed. Though this is one of the smallest of seeds, it grows to become one of the largest of plants, with long branches where birds can come and find shelter” Mark 4 vs 30 – 32. The New Testament comes alive as we journey with Jesus – with imagination we find ourselves back in time to discover what it would have been like to have lived during Jesus’ Ministry. You can almost hear the crowds, feel the tension - could you have been one of the five thousand, or a witness to a miraculous healing? Mens GroupThe mens' group meets to play badminton and other games one evening per term. This takes place in the church on a Tuesday. We also play football against the youth once per term.
